S03 E09 - Joanna Kitto - West Space

This week we talk to Joann Kitto, Director of West Space, and what a fun and informative conversation it is. 

Joanna is an arts worker and writer with a focus on refining her inclusive, receptive and personalised approach to contemporary art presentation. She has been Director of West Space since late 2022. Prior to this, Joanna has held curatorial and leadership positions across Naarm (Melbourne) and Tarntanya (Adelaide), and contributes to national publications and discussions. With an understanding of the significance writing about art holds to the vitality of its creation, Joanna co-founded independent arts writing platform fine print in 2014.

West Space is a leading independent contemporary art gallery / organisation located in multi-arts precinct Collingwood Yards, on Wurundjeri Country. West Space is a vital incubator for timely artistic work and a welcoming gathering place for creative communities. West Space’s core mission is to cultivate an environment of artistic safety, where artists can experiment and develop significant new work.
